Exeter Northcott theatre is the place to be this festive season, thanks to two hilarious and heart-warming Christmas shows that’ll keep the whole family entertained.

A Christmas Carol

For over ten years Exeter’s favourite funny men Le Navet Bete have been creating bonkers physical comedy for all and their latest offering is no different. After the huge success of their previous Christmas show Treasure Island (crowned Exeter Living Awards ‘Best Event’ 2021), Le Navet Bete are back with another twist on a classic – A Christmas Carol.

Featuring larger-than-life characters, this riotous reimagining of the Dickens classic includes giant exploding puddings, hypo-allergenic Christmas trees and a ‘Not So Tiny Tim’. With their trademark blend of slap-stick humour, quick wit and the occasional rib-bustingly funny bit of improv, A Christmas Carol promises to be yet another joyfully silly show.

A collaboration with one of UK theatre’s best comedy writers and directors John Nicholson (BBC Radio 4, The Hound of the Baskervilles), this delightful tale is guaranteed to lift spirits and melt even the coldest of hearts this Christmas.

What the Ladybird Heard

If your little ones aren’t quite old enough to appreciate this famous Victorian ghost story (however funny it may be), then don’t fear – Exeter Northcott will also be hosting a second family-friendly show perfect for early years that’s a whole farmyard of fun!

Following a smash-hit West End summer season, What the Ladybird Heard is heading to Exeter. Based on the award-winning children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks, this enchanting production will delight and enthral your little ones this Christmas.

Join the clever Ladybird as she leads the animals on a quest to save the day from Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len, who have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow! The Ladybird may be small and quiet, but she has a clever plan of her own.

Packed full of playful puppetry, catchy songs and enchanting live music, What the Ladybird Heard is a 55-minute family favourite and the perfect Christmas treat for ages 3+.

Exeter Northcott’s Christmas season runs from Wednesday 1st December – Sunday 2nd January. Book tickets below or call the box office on 01392 72 63 63 (Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 2pm).
