Exeter Northcott Theatre
All car parking is free on campus after 6pm Mon – Fri, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
The nearest car parks to the theatre are Car Parks C & D located only a few minutes walk away. At busy times and for larger events (such as those at the Great Hall) it may be necessary to park in Car Parks A & B which are an 8-10 minute walk way.
WEEKDAYS prior to 5pm
Please be aware that parking is extremely limited as visitor car parks during this time are almost always full. The biggest demand for parking on campus is between 9am -5pm and therefore we strongly suggest using public transport or taxis where possible if attending the theatre prior to 5pm. Metered parking is available however on Prince of Wales Road, a 10 minute walk away.
WEEKDAYS from 5-6pm
Between 5pm – 6pm you will need a parking permit which are available for theatre patrons for car parks A, B & D. These can be obtained from our box office prior to or on the day of performance. Car park C is the visitor car park – you will not need a visitor permit to park between 5pm – 6pm but will have to pay and display between those times which is £2 for up to 2 hours.
WEEKDAYS after 6pm & WEEKENDS
All parking is free and restrictions on all car parks for Exeter Northcott Theatre patrons are lifted after this time so you will not need a permit and PLEASE IGNORE THE SIGNS. We are working closely with the University on getting these signs changed but in the meantime please do bear with us.
You can help the Exeter Northcott to make a real difference. As part of the Theatre’s commitment to green travel, we aim to provide as many travel options as possible in order to reduce car dependency, cut down on pollution and protect the environment.
We welcome car-free visitors and offer a discount. For full details and directions see our Good Journey page.
Green Matinees are discounted midweek performances that you can attend using public transport. See individual show pages for details.

Walking or Cycling
We’d like to encourage those who are able to walk or cycle to the Theatre to do so whenever they can. There are several cycle paths and lanes in and around the theatre and University campus to ensure the safety of cyclists and there is a Cycle Park to the left of the theatre, which is part of the Great Hall Piazza.
