We work closely with communities across the city to support creative and cultural opportunities.
As part of our 3 year relationship with the community of Newcourt, we worked in partnership with Newcourt Community Association to deliver a full day festival last September which celebrated bringing the community together as we emerged from the pandemic. A core group of neighbourhood volunteers were instrumental in listening to the community, planning the event and commissioning artists, community performers companies to perform during the day. We were thrilled to welcome over 500 people during the say to this free, drop-in event.
Thank you for your wonderful contribution. I have shared your ‘Newcourt’ poem with the festival volunteers, and on our community Facebook group. We are planning to print it in the Newcourt News, which goes to all homes in Newcourt. Everybody loves it!

In addition to the festival, we have delivered performance projects with children and young people such as weekly classes for 5 to 8 year olds, Pop-Up Café events and a series of drama residencies in school holidays which were attended by young people aged between 5 and 16.
We intend to work with partners to identify a new neighbourhood for our 2023 programme.

Bringing the arts to Newcourt at the recent festival really opened people’s minds to the breadth of the ‘arts’, and how everyone from the young to old can be involved and enjoy the experience. It would be fantastic to keep this momentum going and reach out further to young people in Newcourt too.
