Young Creatives Commissions

Applications now open!

Create a short film about ‘the change you want to see’ in 2021

Lockdown has pushed storytelling and performance off stage and online, and it’s clear that young people are leading the way by using digital technology and social media to reach new audiences and tell their stories.

If you’re aged 14-21 years with something to say about the change you want to see in the world and an original creative idea for how to communicate that in a short film (3 – 10 minutes), then we want to hear from you.

Successful applicants will work with a professional filmmaker to develop and produce their ideas and will receive £500 worth of mentoring and training. The finished films will be shown on the Exeter Northcott website and shared via our social media channels.

We’re particularly eager to hear from you if you’ve experienced barriers to getting involved in creative projects in the past, or you feel like your voice and ideas haven’t been heard within Devon as loudly as they should; this is your chance to help us change that.

Send us an example of something you’ve made before and a short description of your idea (no more than 500 words) via the application link below. Or start with a chat with our Education and Participation Manager Lisa.

Applications for this opportunity are now open! Deadline: Sunday 28 February.
