Fundraising & Freelance Finance Masterclass: Exeter Northcott Futures

In this two-part masterclass, we will be exploring fundraising for theatre, different approaches and applying for funding. Followed by a session on the financial implications of being a freelancer – tax, income, invoicing and more.

This two-part masterclass will be delivered by Charlotte Hanson and Helen Bovey.


About the artists

Charlotte Hanson, former Development Manager at the Northcott Theatre, she has now moved into working as a Freelance Fundraising consultant working with businesses and charities across Devon. With extensive experience in business development and bid writing, Charlotte has a keen eye for opportunities that help businesses, productions and charities to thrive.

Helen Bovey will be running the session on Freelance Finance. She is a Theatre-Maker and Producer who graduated from East 15 Acting School before relocating back to Devon to create her own work. As well as running Above Bounds, she works as a producer for Beyond Face CIC, Exeter Northcott and Theatre Royal Plymouth and has worked as a Practitioner for Barbican Theatre and Theatre Royal Plymouth.


This workshop is aimed at early career artists, age 18+ only.
