Flavours of Us

  • Show Information

Devon’s Caribbean, Hindu and Polish communities invite you to join them for Flavours of Us.

Flavours of Us is a family friendly food and culture event created by Encompass, a collaborative creative project, run by volunteer community members. The group works together to create and curate vibrant cultural experiences, to which everybody is welcome.

On the day, you can expect a guided experience through different elements, including:

  • Afternoon Tea with a Twist – Take a seat at our table and sample sweet and savoury treats and drinks from each culture, served in a high tea style. Vegetarian, meat-eating and vegan options will be available – please indicate your preference when booking.
  • Community memory sharing circle – Join us for a facilitated community circle as we share memories and stories about food.
  • Creative installations – Explore backstage to discover hidden creative installations based around food. Immerse yourself in different flavours, smells, sounds and textures. Smell spices, handle dough or try a still life drawing.
  • Children’s craft workshop – Create crafts inspired by food and place to take home with you.

**Please note that some elements will occur at the same time (the community memory sharing circle and the craft workshop / creative installations). Attendees can choose which element to attend on the day**
