Charity Dance Show starring Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec
Following the exciting news that Janette and Aljaz are expecting a baby, Aljaz will now be partnered by Strictly pro dancer Katya Jones who joined Strictly in 2016 and won it the following year with celebrity partner Joe Mc Fadden. She has also partnered Adam Peaty, Mike Bushell, Nicole Adams, Ed Balls and Tony Adams
Janette will now co-host the charity show.
Janette and Aljaz gained enormous popularity from their appearances on Strictly and since leaving have continued to entertain audiences with their brilliant dancing on sell-out tours. Expect dazzling dance routines and glittering costumes as they perform six of their favourite routines.
They met while performing on a worldwide tour with the Broadway show Burn the Floor. After years of dancing on international stages and visiting exotic parts of the world together they were both cast as professional dancers on BBC 1’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2013 and married in 2017.
They have had truly amazing careers performing in theatre shows, TV shows, cruise ships and corporate events around the world. Their passion and admiration for the art of dance is evident in all of the projects they have been involved in.
Aljaz is a 19 times Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Tea Dance. He won Strictly with partner Abbey Clancy in 2013 and was joint runner up with Gemma Atkinson in 2017. He has also partnered Alison Hammond, Helen George, Kate Silverton, Clara Amfo and Sara Davies.
Janette was born in Miami and attended musical theatre school specialising in acting, singing and dance classes and through these disciplines developed the natural charm and charisma she brings in front of the camera today. She appeared on the American programme So You Think You Can Dance and was also the principal dancer on the TV sensation Glee. On Strictly she has partnered Peter Andre, Aston Merrygold, Will Bailey and HRVY with whom she reached the final. After 7 years on Strictly she left to become the co presenter of Strictly : It Takes Two in 2021 and will continue in that role.
In 2022 they took to the floor on their highly successful tour entitled Remembering the Oscars and followed that by performing on the tour of Burn the Floor – The Reunion.
There will be support from professional Ballroom and Latin dancers Oskar Odiakosa and Lauren Claydon who featured on BBC 1 programme Blackpool’s Dance Fever, Exeter Academy of Dance and Unlimited Dance, who are based in North Devon.
