In this interactive children’s show, we meet Barney the horse…but Barney is no ordinary horse – he’s got feet the size of the biggest clouds you’ve ever seen in the sky! Sometimes his feet get in the way of his adventures, but one sunny afternoon Barney visits the beach and decides to give swimming a try – will he succeed? Or will he let his feet get in the way of his newfound dreams?

“Josephine’s Stories are life-affirming and inspiring”

Josephine’s Stories was founded in 2020 by Josephine Helen. We focus on approaching taboo topics in a light and fun way, enabling children to see that they are never alone and that there’s always someone who feels just as they do. This story was written by Josephine and brought to life by Ashleigh Summer Edwards and herself.

Josephine trained in Musical Theatre at Chichester Conservatoire and Ashleigh trained in Theatre and Performance at Guilford School of Acting. Both have over five years professional theatre experience between them – from Murder Mysteries to children’s theatre, they’ve done it all! They really hope you enjoy today’s show and learn that you can do anything you set your mind to.

Exeter Northcott Theatre and Le Navet Bete's Dick Whittington artwork. Background: a foggy panorama photo of the city of London, with iconic buildings such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and St Paul's Cathedral. The cityscape is washed over with a burgundy haze. Foreground: A black and white cat (black body, white neck collar, white paws) looks towards the cityscape and we see them in near silhouette. They are stood on a yellow-brick path, with green grassy hills either side of them. On the hills, grey rats with large red eyes. On the left hand side of the cat, a rat holds a stereotypical hobo sack on a stick. At the top of the artwork, gold text reads: 'Exeter Northcott Theatre and Le Navet Bete present Dick Whittington.' Another group of rats with large red eyes are playing around the letters in 'Dick Whittington'. A cat paw icon replaces the dot on top of the letter 'I' in 'Dick', and a block of cheese replaces the dot on top of the second letter 'I' in 'Whittington.
