Ben Qasim Monks

Ben is an arts producer & facilitator who lives in Exeter. He is the executive director of Improbable, a company that uses improvisation to make theatre and opera, hold conversations and nurture communities. He has worked for organisations including Birds Eye View Film Festival, the Koestler Trust for Prison Arts, the Multi Story Orchestra and the Actors Centre; and from 2008-2016 he ran Supporting Wall with Will Young, producing shows including Mike Bartlett’s BULL at the Young Vic (winner of an Olivier Award for outstanding achievement in affiliate theatre). Ben teaches workshops at UCL and East 15 among others, and is a trustee of Deafinitely, a company making bi-lingual theatre in BSL and English. He is also learning how to farm.
