Northcott Futures present Launch Festival

A Place on the Map title treatment

A digital festival celebrating new and emerging talent

A Place on the Map is a digital festival that shares the inspiring work of artists from the South West region across 6 days full of events; from physical theatre and rebellious new writing, to panel discussions, dance films and political performances, we’ve got it all covered!

The festival is being created and produced by a group of 20 people as part of the Exeter Northcott Future’s Programme. Now in its second year, the programme provides support to South West based artists and producers. Over the course of 6 months the participants have experienced a residency at the Northcott – taking part in weekly workshops and training sessions and supported by the professional team at the theatre. Masterclasses have also been provided by local theatre companies including Paddleboat Theatre, Downstage Write and Running Dog Theatre.

A Place on the Map celebrates not only the work achieved by the artists and producers, but also the creative power of the South West and takes pride in the work that is being created here and its importance in the national arts scene. Each artist and producer has brought with them their own experiences and unique voices to the project. We may be from different backgrounds, have different ages and different views of the world, but we share the same place on the map, and that is what brings us together.

All of the festival events are free to view and will be taking place online, therefore, wherever your place on the map is, you are welcome to join us!

Tickets are available now via our What’s On page.
