The young people have been identified through Exeter Chiefs’ renowned Engage programme, which uses the values of rugby to inspire, support and educate people aged 11-16 years old who are disengaged from mainstream education and in need of additional support. Many of the young people experience mental health issues, academic struggles and traumas that have impacted their lives.
We’re so grateful to the Northcott Theatre for inviting our Engage students along to watch Exe Men. For many of our young people, this is the kind of opportunity they might not normally get, and it means a lot.

‘We want everyone to feel welcome at our theatre, especially young people who don’t have creative opportunities elsewhere. Exe Men is a story about what it takes to get through hard times, being vulnerable, recognizing the challenges and what we can overcome if we work together as a team. We hope the young people and their families will come away inspired and as proud of this incredible Devon story as we are.’
I’m really excited to see a show about the Chiefs. I’ve never been to the theatre before and can’t wait for the experience.
