Elevate Production opens the door to careers behind the scenes, supporting emerging backstage, technical and production professionals from the South West, through paid and developmental opportunities embedded within Made By Exeter Northcott Productions. While performers are often the public face of theatre, the skilled people who make productions happen backstage don’t always receive the same pathway support. We’re committed to changing that by investing in the people, skills and craft that bring every production to life.
From wardrobe, stage management, lighting, sound and video, to stagecraft, programming and prop making, Elevate Production offers opportunities to explore a wide range of backstage and technical theatre disciplines. Through a mix of paid placements, developmental opportunities, training and social events, participants can build practical skills, gain industry insight and forge valuable connections with other emerging production professionals from across the South West.
Our pilot placement
We piloted our Elevate Production placement during Exeter Northcott’s original production Exe Men with an Assistant Stage Manager Placement.
Our pilot Elevate Production placement was offered to the brilliant Lucy Kitcher in 2025.
