St David's Players present

The Gondoliers

  • Show Information

Join St David’s Players for Gilbert and Sullivan’s sparkling show The Gondoliers, from 14-17 October 2026 at the Barnfield Theatre, Exeter.

When two handsome gondoliers discover that one of them may be the long-lost King of Barataria, their newly married lives are thrown into delightful confusion.

As mistaken identities, secret marriages, and romantic confusion collide, the two brothers are whisked away to rule Barataria, where their well-intentioned attempts to create a monarchy lead to hilarious consequences. However, the arrival of their two brides, Casilda, who is already married to the true king, and her meddling parents, the Duke and Duchess of Plaza-Toro, threatens to unravel everything.

Featuring Gilbert and Sullivan at their most tuneful and witty, The Gondoliers sees a brilliant score full of memorable melodies combined with sharp comedy and colourful characters.

Performed by Exeter’s acclaimed St David’s Players, don’t miss this delightful show of romance, comedy and topsy-turvy intrigue.

This performance contains smoke and/or haze.
