Moonstone Theatre Company presents
Murder Mystery Dining: Out for a Duck
The annual cricket match between Lower Ashford and Willingham was always a great event. The rivalry between the two teams was legendary and, if the weather was good, the villagers came out in good numbers to watch.
This year the weather was glorious and Lower Ashford batted well. In the limited twenty-over game, they finished their innings on 143 for 5. After the tea interval, it was Willingham’s turn to bat, but in the second over their leading batsman collapsed and was taken into the cricket pavilion where, sadly, he was found to have died.
The police were called and, subject to confirmation from the pathologist, early indications suggested that he had been poisoned.
Detective Chief Inspector Appleby was put in charge of the case and gathered his suspects at the Red Lion in the village to pursue his enquiries.
Who wanted the leading batsman dead? All the clues will be there to catch the killer, but will they be correctly deduced? Inspector Appleby calls on the other guests at the theatre to help him, determined to solve the case before the evening is over!
