Macbeth

“What’s done cannot be undone”

Returning from conflict, Macbeth and Banquo encounter a chilling presence on the battlefield—something unnatural, something that should not be… In the aftermath of violence, a prophecy is delivered and once heard, it cannot be unheard. When Macbeth shares this foreknowledge with his wife, a once-loving relationship – already fractured by grief and loss – begins to shift irrevocably. What follows is a relentless unravelling, as the boundaries between right and wrong, reality and nightmare, begin to blur. As ambition takes hold, the couple are drawn deeper into a world of political chaos, violence, and betrayal. With each step towards power, they descend further into paranoia, madness, and despair – haunted not only by what they have done, but by all they have lost.

Sun & Moon Theatre return with a bold and visceral new production of Macbeth, blending domestic drama, political intrigue, and supernatural horror. Fast-paced and emotionally charged, this reimagining places a troubled marriage at the heart of a blood-soaked rise to power. Expect an intense and atmospheric performance, rich with striking physical theatre, dark humour, and moments of quiet devastation. From the intimacy of a shared grief to the chaos of a kingdom undone, this is a gripping, unsettling and deeply human take on one of Shakespeare’s most powerful tragedies.
