  • Show Information

“You’re not from here unless you’ve got someone in the graveyard.”

Set against the backdrop of Combe Martin and the centuries-old tradition of the Hunting of the Earl of Rone, KILN is a solo show about belonging, acceptance and the stories we inherit.

Tara, a girl of mixed heritage, has grown up surrounded by the traditions of her rural village. But when her younger brother Jed begins having nightmares about the death of the Earl of Rone, she decides to rewrite the story for him.

In doing so, Tara begins to interrogate the traditions she has grown up with, the stories she has been told and what they mean to her.

Created with writer Kayleigh Caird (formerly Mai Hinsley) and Ghostlight Productions, KILN is a story about the power of storytelling and the narratives we tell ourselves.
