Elevate Festival – Behind the Scenes: Producing & Touring Theatre
Ever wondered what it actually takes to get a show from an idea onto the stage – and then take it on the road?
This workshop is split into two parts. Part One introduces the world of creative producing and touring: what a producer actually does, how shows come together and the realities of getting work into venues and in front of audiences.
Part Two is an open producing surgery. Bring along your own ideas, projects or shows in development and get practical advice on challenges, next steps and how to make them happen.

About Big Kun
In the ancient text of Zhuangzi, the vast fish Kun (鯤) transforms into a giant bird—transcending the limitations of the underwater world to experience ultimate freedom.
Like the ancient fish, we believe it’s possible to become something greater than what we imagine ourselves to be.
We produce work across stage & screen, bringing together artists from different disciplines, moving between mediums and perspectives to challenge social norms and centre nuanced experiences.
