Encore Dance Summer Term 2025

Encore Dance, Exeter Northcott Theatre’s dance company for over 50s, offers an exciting new opportunity to engage in contemporary dance. These classes will explore rhythm and movement through Chhaya’s distinctive style, blending contemporary dance with influences from diverse cultural dance forms. Sessions will focus on developing technique, group connection and shared experiences, with activities designed to build friendships, encourage teamwork and inspire whole-group collaboration. Participants will enjoy a mix of exercises, including jamming, stretching, mindfulness and learning set sequences, all while enhancing confidence, building connections and experiencing the joy of creative movement. You’ll also look at techniques to develop mobility, strength and wellbeing.

Together, the group members and course leader Kay Crook will devise a performance for friends and family to come and watch at the end of each term.
