Peter Pan Cancelled Shows

We are very sorry to announce that we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel Thursday 8 December and Friday 9 December 7pm performances of Peter Pan. The show is not up to standard and we need more time to enable us to get the show to the high standard that we want and our audiences expect.

We are happy to re-allocate tickets for another show in the run free of charge, or if customers prefer, offer full refunds. Customers have been advised to contact the box office team, preferably by email, at boxoffice@exeternorthcott.co.uk  and one of our team will be able to action either. Customers are also welcome to contact us by telephone 0n 01392 726363 but hope customers appreciate that the phones will be really busy.

We would also like to share a statement from our Chair of Trustees, Lady Studholme:

‘The Exeter Northcott Theatre is presenting its most ambitious show for many years, building on a recent refocus of the organisation, including a return to producing its own work, and this Christmas show, Peter Pan.

Working collaboratively and inclusively with local organisations, young actors and children, the show is widening and deepening the Northcott’s engagement and contribution to Exeter and Devon.

This is a lovely show which has proved challenging. It needs additional time to make sure that it is at the standard that we and our audiences expect, and we have therefore taken the difficult decision to cancel the two shows on Thursday and Friday this week. We are not alone: in the past, some of the most successful big shows in London’s West End have had to make similar decisions.

I completely understand that this is disappointing and frustrating for those booked in for these shows, and alternative dates or refunds are being offered to everyone. I know that, although a hard decision and one not undertaken lightly, it is the right one.’
