An intriguing show from choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh – revisiting the past and boldly stepping into the new
Classic Cut presents Configurations, a dance piece celebrated for its exhilarating speed and stunning detail. Created in 1988 with iconic composer Michael Nyman, the score has become his acclaimed String Quartet No. 2 (played live on stage for this performance).
Presented alongside this is Dev Kahan Hai? / Where is Dev?, a work that explores desire and anticipation in Indian classical dance and cinema. It features newly commissioned music from young Indian composer and sound artist Niraj Chag whose credits include Rafta Rafta for The National Theatre and the BAFTA-nominated Simon Schama's Power of Art series for BBC2.

Classic Cut has been co-commissioned by ROH2 at the Royal Opera House and The Point Eastleigh. Co-production with ROH2. The music commission by Niraj Chag is supported with funds from PRS for Music Foundation. The tour is supported by The Leche Trust.
